you just stay the fuck away from avenue b!

today i bring you another little brooklyn gem, Glass Ghost. (brookyln tunes have really been coming correct as of late if i do say so myself) anyhow i've been sitting on these tracks for the past few weeks wondering if i should post 'em up but i liked how they have this infectious talking heads/clap your hands say yeah pilled out on prozac groove. and i figured this out of nowhere grey day needed a good helping of pep.

their debut album, idol omen, came out at the end of october & here's a little sample for your sunday:

the boy was right.

so grizzly bear has just put a remix of the notwist's "boneless" - which in its own right is simply divine. it's pretty good & stays kinda faithful to the original adding a bit of soundclashing bass to the mix.

but nothing, not even the original, caught my ear as much as the panda bear remix did last year. he completely turned it around making it sound like a person pitch b-side & i still can't take it off repeat. i swear everything he touches turns golden.....

aguas frescas!

fun. fun. funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn new video from vampire weekend which is for their second single "cousins" from their second album contra.

this track has been getting a lot of play at my place lately. i've always dug how they're this conservative summer at the hamptons blend of afropop soul dashed with bells, drums, xylophones and whatever else you want to do to make it well.....fun.

so here's a little something to get the party started:

double your pleasure, double your fun

first video is from berlin's robot koch who just dropped his debut solo album last week on his new label, robots don't sleep. it sounds like a mix mash of electronic beats with some tracks hip to the likes of flying lotus/gaslamp killer.

second video is touched by robot koch as well as he's also part of the band jahcoozi. keeping true to form it's still sweats out a ghettodub feel - enough to make any time a good time.

i like a man who keeps busy like this.

No Age - Losing Feeling

kinda bummed im gonna be missing no age at fun fun fun fest this weekend. (i opted to stay for what i think is going to be a more intimate broadcast/atlas sound show saturday night at haileys) so if any of you are going to the austin show i HIGHLY recommend seeing them - i hear they're kickass live.

in the meantime here's their new video for 'losing feeling'. track off the same ep mentioned HERE.

still keep diggin' this total 'mature' sound they've garnered....
