dallas transplant dead mellotron freely released his new album this past week via myspace & let me just say i haven't dug an album all the way through like this since last years animal collective's MPP.

its dripping in shoegaze/dreampop goodness & takes you back to the early era of jesus & marychain, slowdive & the very underappreciated moose.

this is the kind of stuff you stay in bed & make love to. <3

i remember i had this primal scream album on my 1991 christmas list but my dad telling me he didn't get it cause no one had it in stock. i even had a little plastic alligator that i kept in my car throughout the years named "bobby" in ode to bobby gillespie. sadly he met his demise by being cut in half when i got into a car wreck last year.

anyhow i just read that they're going to be performing screamadelica in it's entirety at London's Olympia on November 27.

that is going to be a FUCKING BAD ASS SHOW.

SERIOUSLY.

and all that does is remind me that i need to get my passport paperwork filled out thats been sitting on my table for the past two months.....

in being a southern gentleman, he even gives us his album 'baby prayers' (a collection of songs from 2005-2009) for free. a statement on his website boldly proclaims: "The music you'll find below is currently free for you to download and listen to. i've always had this fascination with music from india. and im talking about real indian music that has some heart & soul it - the kind that takes you to the riverbanks of mumbai when you listen to it, even if you haven't been there.

that's why im totally diggin' julian lynch's new indian infused space mountain mix. it also has some turkish, pakistani & even some american influences in there. i mean how cool is it to mix some world tunes with the misfits, grateful dead & the beach boys? pretty cool if you ask me.

im thinking manchester's wu lyf might have made a pact with old beelzebub himself to get a some recognition. very little is known about this band, they only have one song on their myspace (i had to do a little digging to get the ones posted here), their blog is beyond obscure, they don't have a record out & the name of the group is actually short for World Unite/Lucifer Youth Foundation.

maybe they sit around and watch rosemary's baby on mute & make tunes? sounds like a good time me if they do.
