lazy lover.

Isle Adore - Lazy

well, apparently australia wanted me so australia is going to get me. i'm leaving for melbourne on christmas day & i'm very excited to see what's happening down under.

in the meantime i'm heavily in love with this new fuzzy track from melbourne's own Isle Adore. be sure to check out their last ep there which had me thinking they were heavily in love with early animal collective/panda bear.

trailer park boys.

even though you normally don't hear a lot of cool bands coming out of florida, The Jameses, manage to belt out enough garage pop to make you want to get out of your seat & shake it. while their debut album doesn't come out until next may, you can check their recently released video for the track '5th Dimension' from their 7" ep 'Caribou'.

teardrops are falling.

Monster Rally & Rumtum - Raindrops

so apparently when you throw together two ohio beat producers, Monster Rally & Rumtum, you end up creating some sexy sampled sounds. this is just the first taste of what's to come from their ep, MR&RT, to be released next february.

i love you so much.

not since jana hunter have i heard such an androgynously, sexy voice. on top of that, polish sweetheart, Ela Orleans, also manages to turn this former reggae tune into a hell of a distorted heartbreaker.

the golden age.

His Clancyness - Carve A Peach

i've kept my eye on canadian stud, His Clancyness, ever since i put him on THIS lo-fi mix a couple of years back. (his woozy voice seems to get me everytime i hear it.) this track is taken from his recently released 7" split with another great canuck band, Shimmering Stars.

also, if you scroll down a bit on HC's blog you'll find a mix he made that makes me very, very happy.

picnic at hanging rock.

melbourne can go right ahead & keep teasing me like this.

although Witch Hats just released a new album a few weeks ago, i wanted to put up their 2009 ep because i found it downright brilliant. tracks 3-6 are key here, but if you only listen to one thing i must urge 'sessa' as it's a post punk wet dream. i mean i really like to put that track on LOUDDDDDDD.

everybody daylight.

The Orbweavers - Horseshoe Lake

melbourne is still sending those strong vibes. maybe it's telling me something amazing is there.

down under duo,The Orbweavers, recently released second album, loom, was the soothing compliment to this cool & grey day. fans of mazzy star, brightblack morning light & a little beach house would most definitely enjoy.

drink me.

Connan Mockasin - Forever Dolphin Love

Connan Mockasin - It's Choade My Dear

today you get not one but two videos simply because new zealand's Connan Mockasin released one of my favorite albums this year. (also because i could never decide which one of these i liked better.) the album itself is a surreal, kooky collection of strange noises blended with oddly soothing vocals all while managing to make you feel warm & fuzzy inside.

basically, this is the stuff i like to makeout to.

the mess we're in.

DZ DEATHRAYS - Rad Solar

with only 2 ep's under their belt (and heavily influenced by dfa 1979), brisbane duo DZ DEATHRAYS prove here that you don't have to have a lot to have a good time. my mosh pit days are long gone but i'd gladly stand by the drums like one smart lady in there.

p.s. - and THIS shows us why you don't drink jagermeister.

no one does it like you.

J.C. Satàn - Your Place

if still sort of asleep, morning after sex, in a daze of bewilderment from the events of night before had a song, this is probably what it would sound like.

i don't think you would get much less from a band consisting of 3 french guys & 2 italian girls. though the above track is from their lp released last year, you can stream their latest album, hell death samba, here: J.C. Satàn.

hold the babies.

Doldrums - Endless Winter

while texas has just started to show us it's perfect fall weather, canada's Doldrums wants to remind me how much i enjoy it when winter rolls around. a full hodgepodge of choppy beats, make sure to check his new ep, empire sound, released yesterday on the amazing no pain in pop.
