just when i think i'm done with electronica....

...electronica says it isn't done with me.

Seams - Nightcycles

Seams gingerly writes about this track:

This track is inspired by the freedom of 3 a.m. bike rides on deserted roads, and is constructed primarily from samples taken from an 90’s Elliott Smith documentary.

barracudaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

is it indie? is it techno? is it dubstep? is it experimental?

its all of those things mixed on one amazing album from virginia's boas. and what's even better is you can name your own price for it right HERE.

i love how it's becoming so très chic to give away your music for free. <3

death in vegas.

Gonjasufi - Ancestors

Gonjasufi - My Only Friend

Gonjasufi - Kowboyz & Indians

gonjasufi is absolute HEAVEN.

debut album just dropped earlier this month & man is it amazing stuff. you can definitely detect the gaslamp killer/flying lotus influence.

SERIOUSLY - DO NOT SKIP THIS.

i am whoever i say i am.

i'm still very much intrigued by all the hoopla surrounding the mysterious iamamiwhoami. some people have speculated that its lady gaga, the knife, goldfrapp & my personal favorite - christina aguilera. the most recent crack in the case has fingers pointing at swedish songstress jonna lee.

whoever this little blissful poptart is she has a hell of a way of getting peoples attention. back in december & over the past few months she started putting out little minute teaser videos on youtube. then this past sunday she gives it to us with a full length track simply titled 'b'.

WATCH ALL SEVEN CREEPY VIDEOS HERE

im content, i feel good.

minks - funeral song

the weather was perfect today so i soaked it up with a little of brooklyn's minks.

he's pretty much an ethereal blend of the sea & cake and the radio dept . do i detect a little joy division influence in there too?

anyway, its really good stuff.

hazy days are here again.

Dead Mellotron - S/T

Dead Mellotron - Saltwater (Beach House Cover)

(you can also watch video for "1993" HERE)

dallas transplant dead mellotron freely released his new album this past week via myspace & let me just say i haven't dug an album all the way through like this since last years animal collective's MPP.

its dripping in shoegaze/dreampop goodness & takes you back to the early era of jesus & marychain, slowdive & the very underappreciated moose.

this is the kind of stuff you stay in bed & make love to. <3

screamadelica!

Primal Scream - Come Together

Primal Scream - Movin' On Up

i remember i had this primal scream album on my 1991 christmas list but my dad telling me he didn't get it cause no one had it in stock. i even had a little plastic alligator that i kept in my car throughout the years named "bobby" in ode to bobby gillespie. sadly he met his demise by being cut in half when i got into a car wreck last year.

anyhow i just read that they're going to be performing screamadelica in it's entirety at London's Olympia on November 27.

that is going to be a FUCKING BAD ASS SHOW.

SERIOUSLY.

and all that does is remind me that i need to get my passport paperwork filled out thats been sitting on my table for the past two months.....

a lady never talks.

Explode Into Colors - Sharpen The Knife

Explode Into Colors - Paper (Hot Sax Version)

Explode Into Colors - Two For Jazz

explode into colors is a sweet little trio of hardcore ladies from portland. they're a mash of raw vocals, bass, drums, horns & whatever else you could throw in for good measure.

they'll be playing next month at hailey's with the cave singers, cymbals eat guitars, the ruby suns, etc. info here

i suggest you do not miss.

karmacoma....

Coma Cinema - Flower Pills from Mat Cothran on Vimeo.

Coma Cinema - Baby Prayers

south carolina has already thrown us gaze infused acts like toro y moi & washed out - now they also want to throw us one man act coma cinema. his video for "flower pills" is a perfect combination teaser all the way to the climax which leaves you saying....wait, thats it?

in being a southern gentleman, he even gives us his album 'baby prayers' (a collection of songs from 2005-2009) for free. a statement on his website boldly proclaims: "The music you'll find below is currently free for you to download and listen to. If you feel the need to compensate us, we only ask that you share the music with others."

CRYING OVERPAID MUSICIANS - PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT.

Julian Lynch - Space Mountain Three Mix

i've always had this fascination with music from india. and im talking about real indian music that has some heart & soul it - the kind that takes you to the riverbanks of mumbai when you listen to it, even if you haven't been there.

that's why im totally diggin' julian lynch's new indian infused space mountain mix. it also has some turkish, pakistani & even some american influences in there. i mean how cool is it to mix some world tunes with the misfits, grateful dead & the beach boys? pretty cool if you ask me.

ahoy, mate!

[[[[links removed per request]]]

it's cold, rainy & im sick.

so im all bundled up enjoying aussie band tame impala. warm, fuzzy psych rock ALWAYS makes me feel better.

ALWAYS.

this is no dream! this is really happening!

Wu Lyf - Heavy Pop

Wu Lyf - Concrete Gold

Wu Lyf - Lucifer Calling (Demo)

im thinking manchester's wu lyf might have made a pact with old beelzebub himself to get a some recognition. very little is known about this band, they only have one song on their myspace (i had to do a little digging to get the ones posted here), their blog is beyond obscure, they don't have a record out & the name of the group is actually short for World Unite/Lucifer Youth Foundation.

maybe they sit around and watch rosemary's baby on mute & make tunes? sounds like a good time me if they do.

girls, i do adore.

1. Beth Orton - She Cries Your Name
2. Sonic Youth - Bull In The Heather
3. Cibo Matto - Moonchild

7. Deerhoof - Wrong Time Capsule
8. Bettie Serveert - Tom Boy

12. The Breeders - Safari
13. New Buffalo - I've Got You & You've Got Me
14. Kelis - Suspended
15. The Besnard Lakes - Albatross

i think the theme is kind of easy on this one but these are ladytime songs that have made some sort of stamp in my life. threw in some newer tracks too because they're ones i havent gotten enough of lately.

enjoy <3

party in your pants!!!

Sunglasses - Whiplash

i was going to wait to post this till tomorrow but as i was cleaning my apartment i just couldn't take this track off repeat tonight.

and not only do you get the track but you also get one of the most wtf video's i've seen since yacht's "women of the world".if you don't mind a sexual predator-esque gentleman & his neon soaked ladies gettin' down then this video is right up your alley.

this is all brought to you by georgia's peachy sweet duo sunglasses.
