double your pleasure, double your fun
first video is from berlin's robot koch who just dropped his debut solo album last week on his new label, robots don't sleep. it sounds like a mix mash of electronic beats with some tracks hip to the likes of flying lotus/gaslamp killer.
second video is touched by robot koch as well as he's also part of the band jahcoozi. keeping true to form it's still sweats out a ghettodub feel - enough to make any time a good time.
i like a man who keeps busy like this.

No Age - Losing Feeling
kinda bummed im gonna be missing no age at fun fun fun fest this weekend. (i opted to stay for what i think is going to be a more intimate broadcast/atlas sound show saturday night at haileys) so if any of you are going to the austin show i HIGHLY recommend seeing them - i hear they're kickass live.
in the meantime here's their new video for 'losing feeling'. track off the same ep mentioned HERE.

sympathy for the devil.

Zomby - Helter Skelter
its halloween tonight. (very excited for the kurt vile show @ the lounge!)
however i thought a little bit of the uk's Zomby might be a bit more fitting. this is a spooky dub track with with a very sooth acidlike break nestled in the middle.
might just go & entice you to do naughty things tonight......

sonic youth is brewing here!

Sleighbells - A/B Machines
Sleighbells - Crown On The Ground
brooklyn duo Sleighbells is an explosion of distorted party tunes. something fun to keep you on your toes & nothing to be taken too seriously.
and to think the lead singer is an elementry school teacher. where were teachers like this when we were little?

its turning chilly outside, you know what that means.....

im loving all this side project business. case in point is volcano choir. which is the 1/2 bon iver & 1/2 half collections of colonies of bees & 1/2 this goes perfect with all of the rather calm rainy cool we've been having.
here's the first single of of their debut album, unmap.
volcano fire - island, is
or watch the iridescent video HERE. (which in my opinion makes this track sooo much better)
this is the kind of stuff you fall in love to......

candy is dandy but liquor is quicker....
'Broadcast & The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age'
thats the new album name for the collaborative project between broadcast & the focus group. (awesome huh?) the video above is a five minute fluffer of all the goodness we're going to hear.
this alone makes your blood flow with psychedelic bliss when you listen to it. and this is just a mini-album before broadcast comes out with a new album next year.
im pretty stoked they're coming to town next month & with atlas sound of all people. that will be one woozy night for sure.....

low fidelity > high fidelity
High Places - Late Bloomer from Transformation Surprise on Vimeo.
i've always thought of this band high places as the mirrored duo of avey tare & kría brekkan (who in their own right produced one of the most brillantly bizzare albums pullhair rubeye). they're one of those musical entities that add just the right amount of lo-fi drizzled magic with catchy poptastic bleeps drowned in vocoder-esque female vocals.
i was going to add this new track, late bloomer, on a new mix i'm making but coming in just shy of 12 minutes long i think it's one left better standing on it's own. and i don't doubt these guys took a little something something to get them in the mood when making the video for it. you'll see what i mean............
